Q: How much coverage should I add to my DMVsr22 policy?

A: How much coverage you have on your DMVsr22 policy depends on your needs, but generally you should follow the rule that you need at least the minimum state car insurance requirements, and beyond that it’s up to you.

Alaska has some of the highest requirements fr DMVsr22 in the entire country, and while this can be frustrating when you are paying off your SR22, it does mean you will almost always have enough coverage to take care of your damages and injuries in any crash. Here are the Alaska coverage limits:

  • $50,000 for bodily injury liability; this coverage is for the death or injury of each person in an accident
  • $100,000 for bodily injury liability; this is the limit of pay out for death or injury in an accident
  • $25,000 for property damage liability; this is the coverage for any physical damages to vehicles or property in a car accident
