I am required to get an SR22 auto insurance to have my license reinstated however I do not have A car. I only borrow and rent. So how do I di this?

Since you do not own a car and you are required to get SR22 auto insurance, what you need to get is an SR22 non owners insurance in Alaska.

A non owner SR22 insurance in Alaska is simply a form of car insurance that shows proof that you have an existing car insurance policy on file. You need to file this to an auto insurance provider that is licensed to do business in the state of Alaska. You will also need this to have your license reinstated.

According to the Alaska Department of Motor Vehicles the SR22 auto insurance form includes:

  • crash information (date and location),
  • driver’s personal information (name, date of birth, license number, and mailing address)
  • vehicle information (year, make, model, license plate number, and VIN) and
  • car insurance company information (name of the company, policyholder’s name and address, policy period and number)

If you need to get a non owner SR22 insurance in Alaska, contact your car insurance company and see if they offer this type of insurance.
